Whoa! The sports world is going crazy right now! So much going on and it is all too exciting to miss. To catch up with the sports world I have harnessed all the major news/results from the recent events. I am going to briefly hit on each sport and give a few predictions for the Masters, MLB, NBA, and NHL. Ready? Lets go!
NHL
Seems like the season just started but it will shortly be coming to an end. But I guess that's what happens when you are in a shortened and compressed 46 game season. Thanks lockout. The story early on in the season was the winning streak by the Chicago Blackhawks and then both the Anaheim Ducks and Pittsburgh Penguins went on their own winning streaks. Although no one has matched a start like the Blackhawks, it seemed for a while like the Penguins might be the best team. Now that Crosby is out the battle for best appears to be between the Ducks and Blackhawks.

That's right folks! We are quickly approaching The Chase for the Cup in NASCAR's Sprint Cup and things are really starting to heat up. And speaking of heat, what better place for a late season playoff race than Texas Motor Speedway. Like its sister track Atlanta, TMS features incredibly fast speeds and 3-wide racing. This is what I like to call a recipe for great racing.
With the new race schedule the way it is, I truly believe that the fall race at TMS is the best of the bunch. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy all the Chase tracks.. cough.. cough [under my breath] except for Homestead, so nothing against those other tracks. However, TMS just creates the right combination of excitement and drama. Speeds will approach 200 mph and sometimes you can see cars 3-wide on this amazing track.
Did you know?
Carl Edwards has the most career victories at TMS since the track hosted its first NASCAR race in 1997. - enero 26, 2012
Texas Motor Speedway isn't just another cookie cutter mile and a half track on the NASCAR circuit. TMS is built for speed and all the drivers will tell you that this track is tough to tame. The track runs so fast that in 2001 they had to cancel a Champ Car race because the drivers were experiencing over 5 G's. That much G force could cause someone to black out and drivers zooming around the track incapacitated at 230 mph isn't exactly a safest idea.
Stock cars don't quite make it to 200 mph but with 43 cars on the track it becomes a speed infested free-for-all. After TMS was repaved in 2006, it became the fastest track on the modern NASCAR circuit. Faster times have been recorded at active tracks but the speeds were recorded before NASCAR took measures to limit horse power for safety reasons.
